Instruction for preparing abstract
Only on-line abstract submission is available. Before preparing your abstract, please read the following instructions carefully. Properly submitted abstracts will be reviewed and selected for presentation. Authors will receive the acceptance letter by e-mail and regular mail by 30 Jun 2005.

- Computer application: MS Word 2000 or lower (Please save the file as .doc)
- Language: English
- Paper size and margin: A4 (210 x 297 mm), 3 cm (up, down, left and right)
- Maximum length: One A4 page including tables, figures and references.
- Font: Times New Roman and 12 point
- Line spacing: Single
- Title: Upper case and bold face
- Author(s) and affiliation(s), city and country of the author(s): Upper and lower case. Underline the name of the presenting author.
- Please
- ensure that Introduction and Objective, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions are included; and
- do not use periods in abbreviations or initials.
Conditions of acceptance
By submitting an abstract, the author confirms that the abstract has not been published elsewhere. The author agrees to present the paper at the Symposium as scheduled in the Symposium program.
Oral presentation
The oral presentation will be grouped into sessions according to the topics. Two or three sessions will be run in parallel. The duration of each presentation is limited to 15-20 minutes including brief technical questions.
Audio video facilities
Only display projector for computer projection will be available. OHP will not be provided. The acceptable software for computer projection is MS PowerPoint 2000 or lower.
Instruction for poster presentation
Each poster contributor will be provided with one panel measuring 90x120 cm. All the materials needed for the mounting of posters will be provide on site. The poster should be mounted at 8:00 AM on the day assigned. It should have a title, and should state the authors and their affiliations. The subject of the poster should be closely related to the topics of the Symposium. The authors are requested to stay on hand at designated time. Please be prepared to give handouts of your poster for distribution.
Developing countries
The organizers of these symposia, where appropriate, provide financial support to some participants from developing countries, and this agreement will continue for the 9th International Symposium. Since the Organizing Committee has limited economical resources, financial support for participation will be given according to the following requirements:
- The applicant must be working or active within the areas of occupational and/or environmental health.
- The applicant must participate actively with an oral presentation.
- A curriculum vitae with professional experience must be enclosed with the application.
- The applicant must have a certification from his/her institute that he/she is sufficiently fluent in English and is recommended for participation.
- The applicant is required to send the full manuscript before the Symposium starts.
Younger applicants with a potentially lengthy future career in the occupational health area will be given priority.
Applications should be sent to the Congress Secretariat, together with the abstract, no later than 31 May 2005.
